Week 24: Enjoy everything you do

“Enjoy everything you do!” I heard myself calling after someone I’d just bumped into. What did I mean by that, I thought. What is it I wished for him? For all of us? “Ordinary thoughts course through our mind like a deafening waterfall,” says Jon Kabat-Zinn. “Rest in stillness—to stop doing and focus on just being.”

It doesn’t much matter what I thought in that moment, except for my intention: That he be in peace, that his son be happy, his upcoming vacation be a blast, and that we might meet again. And even if this had been our last time together, that we’d be nourished by having sharing snippets of intimacy and silly banter. Something along those lines . . .

May you too find joy in every moment, regardless of how ordinary or spectacular it may seem. Simple be there when occurs. And breathe. That’s all that matters.
