Stress-related conditions: a critical review of the research literature

How potent (or efficacious) are meditation programs when it comes to conditions such as stress, anxiety, depression, distress, well-being, positive mood, and quality of life? Researchers at Johns Hopkins University searched the academic literature for controlled trials. They found 17,801 citations and selected 41 trials involving 2,993 participants. Conclusion: mindfulness programs reduce multiple negative dimensions of psychological stress.
